And while the top five university cities to find love are:

Oxford (35%)
York (29%)
Durham (25%)
Liverpool (23%)
Manchester (21%)
I don’t know if that’s counteracted by computer science being the least likely to lead to love. Tried to find the actual source or numbers which meant anything, but gave up after about 10 minutes. I’d make a shit journalist.

Some guy set up a weekly art challenge thread on TSR that I intend to keep up with. I doodled this in a few hours, without much thought to perspective or clothes or whatever. I should make the shit on the floor look more like… something, but I can’t really be bothered.

I’m a bit conscious of being the first submission. I don’t want to uninspire with my interpretation of “change”.

I spend a couple of hours a week on TSR trying to encourage kids to go into engineering. I’d like to think it actually pays off, but following people’s post history makes it seem like I hardly make a difference.

This is probably something I actually could do with the rest of my life — I’d like join the RAE and help the country to grow again. I dunno… it’d be nice to see a government that put our abilities to use instead of focusing on putting out fires all the time.

Debates get pretty heated in the Computer Science department. I’m pretty insecure about the fact I’m such a slow typist given how much I spend in front of a computer. Today’s the first time it’s been pointed out that I’m “doing it wrong” and I’ve since become very conscious of the way I’ve been typing things today.

Still, I don’t believe that it’s faster to be a rigid “home row”-style typist. As a programmer, I find myself hovering over the backspace key half of the time. No wonder my left hand has become so dominant.

Totally worth the -1 rep just for tiny piece of statistical grounding.
